Okobos® Foundation

Passion With Purpose

People are suffering all over the world, ravaged by poverty, starvation, disease and war. Even with the best of intentions, governments alone cannot address these complex issues. The mission of the Okobos® Foundation is to tap into the talents, resources, and entrepreneurial spirits of those in the private sector who want to facilitate real change in the world.

We are often asked, "Why a Foundation? Isn't a start-up company a big enough mountain to climb?" You see, when you focus on the common thread--that we are all human beings, regardless of which side of which ocean we live on--then the answer to this question becomes clear: help when help is needed. It's that simple.

The Okobos® Company provides the groundwork on which the Foundation is built. Although we did not originally set out to become a shoe company, our shoes have become the vehicle for our journey. Our vision is to join like-minded people in the purpose of creating resources that provide relief and assistance to those who have fallen through the gaps of society, wherever it is needed most.

As illustrated by the Okobos® Tree, our Foundation focuses on helping children in three areas.
Mind: Empowering and enriching children through education, with emphasis on the fine arts and humanities.
Body: Keeping children strong and healthy through food, clean water, and better sanitation.
Spirit: Providing counseling and mentoring, and bridging social gaps.
